SAFFR'ACTIV®

SAFFR'ACTIV® - A Premium Saffron Extract

The saffron extract used in this formulation, SAFFR'ACTIV®, is standardized to ≥5% total bioactives, including 3% crocins and 2% safranal. The saffron originates from the Khorasan region in Iran, where it is cultivated under controlled conditions and subsequently processed using a low-temperature drying method to preserve the integrity of its delicate active ingredients.

SAFFR'ACTIV® has been clinically studied and is known for its ability to support emotional well-being, improve sleep quality, and promote neurotransmitter balance by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine.

MiLi Pure™ – Micellized Liquid Technology

The MiLi Pure™ system is a liposomal liquid technology that embeds plant-based active ingredients in tiny micelles. Micelles are microscopic transport spheres that encapsulate, stabilize, and make the active ingredient water-soluble. This protects the bioactive molecules, efficiently transports them through the intestinal wall, and absorbs them into the bloodstream – similar to how the body transports fat-soluble vitamins.

MiLi Pure™ successfully increases the bioavailability of plant-based active ingredients many times over. This is achieved without artificial additives, but through a biomimetic technology that is based on natural processes in the body.

STUDIES

Saffron in Clinical Trials

Saffron is among the most thoroughly researched herbal active ingredients in the field of mood and emotional well-being. Several randomized, placebo-controlled studies and meta-analyses show that standardized saffron extracts (20-30 mg daily for 6-8 weeks) can lead to a significant improvement in mild to moderate depressive symptoms, usually with good tolerability. There is also positive evidence for anxiety, stress, and sleep, but the data is less extensive in these areas.

Our first observational study provides the initial positive results with our product. The mean values of the DASS-21 scales used for depression, anxiety, and stress decreased over the course of the study compared to baseline. Initial improvements were already seen after two weeks and generally persisted throughout the entire observation period of up to eight weeks. The evidence is solid, but we are working to expand upon it.

DOSAGE

Achieving the Best Effect Through Customization

In clinical studies, saffron is generally considered to be very well tolerated. However, some users report mild fatigue, dizziness, or a feeling of lightheadedness, especially if they are already prone to low blood pressure. This is physiologically explainable: saffron can have a vasodilating effect and slightly lower blood pressure. In addition, it affects the serotonin and GABA systems, among others, which can have a calming, and sometimes slightly sedating, effect. These effects are often desired, but in sensitive individuals, they can lead to a feeling of heaviness or daytime sleepiness.

If such symptoms occur, the dosage can be easily adjusted. Instead of the full daily dose of 30 drops (approx. 30 mg), a reduction to 10–20 drops per day may be advisable. Taking it in the evening can also be useful, especially if the calming effect is felt to be too strong during the day.
